The California Collegiate Gaelic Athletic Association was established in 2008 to handle the explosive growth of Gaelic games on college campuses in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is officially recognized by the other GAA bodies at national level and is affiliated to the NCGAA.

The CCGAA organizes competitive games between college hurling teams and provides assistance to any new teams emerging on campuses in the state.
