For all of you antsy fans out there that couldn’t make it to Chicago this weekend, here’s a recap. In an epic rematch of last year’s championship match the Huskies squared off against the Grizzlies and Montana took control of the game early. By half time, UConn was in a 7 point hole which expanded to a 9 point deficit before 2 back to back goals by the Huskies. Facing a 3 point gap with 3 minutes of regulation remaining, the question was whether the Huskies could repeat their late goal that clinched last year’s championship. But as time slowly trickled away and the Griz put another point over the bar, the end of regulation place the Huskies into a respectable 2nd place with a final count of 2-10 (16) to 2-6 (12). So say hello to the 2017 NCGAA Hurling Champions, for the third time in four years, the University of Montana Grizzlies Hurling Club.
